Your day trip has been organised at a relaxed pace, where you can explore the ever-present reminders of how our countrymen, who fought with courage and determination, have left their scars of battle in the revered landmarks.

They are small group tours with a maximum of up to 7 people accommodated in a mini-van with a driver/guide. The local tour operator we partner with is based in Arras, France, offer battlefield guides who are experts on the Australian campaign, spending many years exploring and studying the main sites of the Somme and Flanders battlefields that the Anzacs saw action during World War One. Should your tour be of a personal pilgrimage, be sure to advise us of special places of interest you would like to visit or the name, Battalion, and service number of your relative so as they can try their best to incorporate the actions of your soldier into the itinerary.

You’ll also experience the very welcoming nature of the locals, especially to Australian visitors.

All battlefield day tours commence from a respectable 9am in the beautiful city of Arras, a comfortable 50 minute journey from the Paris Nord railway station via the TGV (fast train) network. Most tours (except when attending the Last Post service at the Menin Gate) return by 5:30pm to give you time to rest before going out to explore the many restaurants and cafes available in and around the picturesque town square.
